About us

Duo Tufekčić & Conant is the New York City-based musical collaboration of Croatian violist Ema Tufekčić and American guitarist Daniel Conant. While uncommon in the world of chamber music,  the sonorous combination of viola and guitar is rich with possibilities. In our program, we explore how the timbres of our instruments combine, sometimes offering an array of textures, sometimes blending into one unique voice.

We intend our program to be a celebration of music written by composers from all over the world. At the heart of our program are pieces originally written for viola and guitar, but we also feature our own arrangements of art and popular songs, music for solo piano, and music for solo guitar. Above all, we perform music to uplift and inspire audiences – to inspire feelings of joy, contemplation, and reverie.
